10. Transport

To load the electric wheelchair you should ideally use ramps due to
the weight. If you still need to lift the wheelchair, grip it by firmly-fixed
frame parts or the hold points. Do not hold it by the casing, electronic
parts and other attachments. For transportation you can secure the
electric wheelchair using the two eyelets (Fig. 53/54). The wheelchair

must not be used as a vehicle seat.
Under no circumstances may it be used as such. It does not fulfil the
requirements in compliance with ISO 7176-19. Failure to observe this
instruction can lead to extremely serious or fatal injuries in the event
of an accident.

11. Storage and shipping

If the wheelchair is to be stored or shipped, all loose parts which are
not fixed, except for the drive wheels, must be removed and packed
individually in an appropriate cardboard box. The power circuit must
be open when stored for long periods of time. The individually packed
parts can then be packaged together in a larger cardboard box. We
recommend keeping the original packaging and storing it with this
purpose in mind, so that it is available if required. Your wheelchair
then has optimum protection against environmental influences during
storage or transport.

the technical data. To avoid mould growth and damage to the the
upholstery parts, the storage location should be as dry as possible and
not be not exposed to direct sunlight.

12. Use by others

The wheelchair is designed for re-usage by other persons. Before the
product is passed to another user, it must be serviced by a dealer and
hygienically cleaned. When passing the wheelchair onto another user,
please remember to hand over this user manual and the address of
your dealer to the new user.
The wheelchair must be checked in accordance with
the maintenance plan and be in proper technical
condition.

13. Service life

The expected service life of the Ejoy RD is up to 5 years, if it is used
correctly, and safely, following the care and maintenance instructions.
Beyond this period the wheelchair can be used if it is in a condition
allowing its safe usage.

14. Disposal

If your wheelchair is no longer in use and needs to be disposed of,
contact your dealer.
If you wish to dispose of the product yourself,
contact local recycling companies to enquire about
the regulations that apply to your place of residence.
