Switching off: Let go of the operating
switch.

Drilling and Screwing

Please Note!
■ Use suitable searching equipment to
uncover any hidden supply pipes, or
consult the local utility company. Con-
tact with electrical wires may cause
an electric shock and fire; contact with
a gas pipe may cause an explosion.
Damage to a water pipe may cause
damage to property and electric shock.
■ Only place the power tool on the
workpiece when it is switched off! Tool
inserts which are rotating may slip off.
■ Do not overtighten screws so you do
not damage them or the workpiece.
1. Place the screw attachment (2) onto
the motor unit (3).
2. Turn the drill chuck (25) anticlockwise
to open the chuck jaws (24).
3. Slide the shank of a masonry drill
bit (9) or the bit adapter (14) as far as
the limit stop between the chuck jaws.
If you do not use the bit adapter, make
sure that the bit (10) is not pushed too
deep between the chuck jaws.
4. Turn the drill chuck clockwise until the
drill bit, bit adapter or bit fits securely
(Picture C).
5. If you are using the bit adapter, push
in the bit (Picture D).
6. Set the rotation direction: Press the ro-
tation direction changeover switch (18)
as far as it will go. Depending on its
position,
○ clockwise rotation for drilling and
screwing in screws is activated or
○ anticlockwise rotation for unscrew-
ing screws is activated.
24
○ When the rotation direction change-
over switch is in the middle position,
the operating switch is blocked.
Press the operating switch (23) briefly
to check the direction of rotation.
7. Twist the torque setting (26) to select
the correct torque:
○ Drilling: Position
○ Screwing: Position 1 to 16
L
Start screwing with a low torque
and increase it if necessary. The
required torque depends on the
hardness of the material and the
length of the screws.
8. Use the speed switch (27) to set level
1 (400 rpm) or 2 (1400 rpm).
9. Place the drill bit on the workpiece or
the bit on the screw head, press the
operating switch and hold it down until
the hole is deep enough or the screw
has been screwed in or removed.
If the power weakens, the battery
needs to be charged (see the "Charg-
ing Up the Battery" chapter).
To remove the tool which is inserted,
twist the drill chuck anticlockwise to
open the chuck jaws.
Sanding
Please Note!
■ Clean the sanding attachment before
placing on a sanding disc.
■ Guide the switched-on power tool
along the workpiece.
■ Apply a low and even pressure to pre-
serve the power tool and sanding disc.
■ The workpiece will become hot during
sanding. Allow the area which has
been worked on to cool down before
touching it.
■ Never use the sanding attachment
without a sanding disc so you do not
damage it or the workpiece.
