INSTALLATION
Installation
The filter must be installed between the air intake and the heat
exchanger.
1 Possible filter positions
f Check that the filter is in the correct position for the direc-
tion of flow.
f If necessary, remove the filter from the appliance and in-
stall it on the other side of the appliance. If the air flow is
coming from the left, the arrow must point to the right. If
the air flow is coming from the right, the arrow must point
to the left.

8.8 Heat source circuit

Note
Engineer the heat source circuit for the appliance ac-
cording to the technical guides.
Ventilation
To ensure you can ventilate the heat source circuit, lay the pipes
with a rise towards the "heat source flow" and "heat source
return" connections. A manual air vent valve is installed in the
appliance.
1 Manual air vent valve
Hydraulic connection
Note
f Insulate the heat source circuit with diffu-
sion-proof thermal insulation.
f Connect the appliance to the heat source circuit. Check
for leaks.
f To prevent damage from frost or condensation, ensure
that the appliance's flow and return are insulated properly.
f As an option, you can install a dirt trap.
f As an option, you can install shut-off valves for mainte-
nance work.

Leak test
f Once the appliance is connected to the heat source cir-
cuit, carry out a pressure test to check the appliance and
system for leaks.

8.9 Filling the heating system

Carry out a fill water analysis before filling the system. This anal-
ysis may, for example, be requested from the relevant water
supply utility.
Material losses
!
To avoid damage as a result of scaling, it may be neces-
sary to soften or desalinate the fill water. The fill water
limits specified in chapter "Specification / data table"
must always be observed.
f Recheck these limits 8-12 weeks after commis-
sioning, every time the system is topped up and
during the annual service.
Note
With a conductivity >1000 μS/cm, desalination treat-
ment is recommended in order to avoid corrosion.
Note
Suitable appliances for water softening and desalinat-
ing, as well as for filling and flushing heating systems,
can be obtained from trade suppliers.
Note
do not add inhibitors or additives to the filling water.
f After filling the heating system, check the connections for
leaks.
8.9.1 Venting the heating system
f Vent the pipework carefully.

8.10 Completing the installation

f Position the front cover so that the horizontal grooves on
the front face of the front cover are on the left.
f Push the front cover into the casing until the joints are
free of gaps.
