Functional description SV EC
The scope of delivery includes an internal potentiometer in the terminal box with which any fan speed bet-
ween min. and max. speed can be set. With regard to types without an external release or with an activa-
ted external release and a connected internal potentiometer (delivery 100%), the motor will start automati-
cally when the mains voltage is applied. For speed control, the internal potentiometer can be set to the
desired speed setpoint. For an external speed setting with a 0-10 V control signal, the internal potentiome-
ter must be removed. The SlimVent SV.. EC..are variable speed controllable by means of a 0-10 V control volta-
ge. Suitable potentiometers (Type PU/A 10), three-step switches (Type SU/A) are available in the Helios accessory
range. Variable speed control is possible with a universal control system (Type EUR EC). Alternatively,
the electronic differential pressure/temperature controller EDR / ETR can be used.
m
Activation / deactivation:
Frequent switching on and off of EC fans can be carried out via the 0-10 V control input by switching off the
control signal to 0 V This applies to operation with an external potentiometer or external 0-10 V signal from
the building management system Switching off is alternatively also possible via a release input, depending
on the type This is gentle on the electronics and ensures a long service life If this is not easy to realise,
eg when operating with an internal potentiometer, it can also be done by switching off the mains supply
In general, a time interval of at least 120 seconds must be observed when switching the mains off/on
m
In case of strong vibrations and/or odours, maintenance must be carried out by a specialist according to
chapter 15

Swing-out motor impeller unit

1 Isolate the unit from the power supply and secure against switching on again!
2. Loosen the four outer fixing screws (do not remove screws!) Turn cover so that it swings out (Fig. 2/Fig. 3).

Cleaning

m
DANGER!
An insulation/installation fault may result in electric shock! Before cleaning, isolate the fan from the mains pow-
er supply and protect against being switching on again!
Waiting period of at least 5 minutes!
When using capacitors, there is a danger to life after deactivation due to the direct touching of live parts Ter-
minal compartment access is only permitted after the power supply is disconnected and a 5 minute waiting
period
