Bass support for hi-fi loudspeakers
In this example stereo loudspeakers receive the full frequency signal directly from the amplifier, with the subwoofer
giving support in the low bass. As a rule, the subwoofer's crossover frequency should not be set too low. This en-
sures a substantial overlap with the main speakers, and at the same time maintains moderate subwoofer levels.
Testing will determine the best polarity for your needs.
The connection of the subwoofer to the main speakers in parallel doesn't additionally load the amplifier, as
the input circuit of the subwoofer only uses the voltage information of the signal and doesn't take any
power out of it.
