Configuration

To configure the Access Point, choose the menu item »Access Point
Configuration«. If required, the Access Point can synchronize the
time with an NTP server. Just fill in the time zone and a server ad-
dress. Change the web interface's password in the box »Password«.
Note: The device has no battery-buffered clock. After switch-on, it
starts with a system time of 01.01.2010 00:00 o'clock.
If there are several Access Points in the same wireless network, the
broadcast ID should vary. Otherwise there may be an impairment of
the radio transmission of broadcast messages.
To have steute the Access Point communicate with the server, fill in
the server address in the box »Primary Server«. If the server uses
another port than the standard port 80, type »:PORTNR« behind the
host name. »Access Point ID« serves to identify the Access Point to
the server in case several Access Points are connected to the server.
For advanced users, there are further configuration possibilities
after activating the »Advanced Server settings«:
Packet size: The maximum amount of switch event records to be
transmitted by the server per request. Value range: 5 to 1024.
Default: 256.
Interval lenght (ms): Determines how long switching events will
be buffered in the Access Point before they are sent to the Gateway
or the remote server (influences the »Poll Interval«). Value range:
10 ms to 5000 ms. Default: 100 ms.
Interval count: The Access Point requests new data from the server
as soon as the interval configured above has passed as often as
specified (influences the »Poll Interval«). Value range: 5 to 500.
Default: 50.
Poll interval (ms): The product of »Intervall length« und »Interval
count« determines the time span between two »GET_TABLE« data
requests by the Access Point to the server (for details concerning
data transmission: see »Description of interface«).
HTTP request timeout (s): The time span during which the Access
Point waits for answers to its HTTP requests. If a »GET_TABLE«
request is not answered within this time span, then the Access Point
deletes its node list. Value range: 1 sec to 60 sec. Default: 2 sec.
Specify the IP address, subnet mask, Networking Gateway and DNS
server address for the network interface (LAN) in the configuration
section »Network«.
A fix IP address is usually assigned by the network administrator.
Alternatively, the dynamic assignment of these parameters via
DHCP can be activated.
Pressing the button »Save Settings« applies new settings. The data
are stored in the internal memory, then the Access Point reboots.
