1. Basic safety information
Before first use, please read
the operating instruction
carefully. These provide
important safety information
and information concerning use and
maintenance of the tool.
This precision boring tool is designed
for finishing bores in metallic materials.
Specific information on the machining
of individual metallic materials is not the
subject of these operating instructions.
No other application is permitted and
could be dangerous. The manufacturer
cannot be held responsible for damage or
injury caused by improper use. A dama
ged tool could endanger your safety!
Decommission the tool immediately and
contact your supplier. This tool complies
with the prescribed safety regulations.
Repairs must be undertaken only by
trained personnel. Improper repairs can
represent a considerable risk for the user.
Warranty provisions can be implemented
in the event that original Wohlhaupter
spare parts and accessories are used.
Keep the operating instructions in a safe
place for future use.
2. Application
The precision boring tools in the
digital series are for the machining of
precision holes from 50.0 – 205 mm
(1.968" – 8.071") in diameter. The series
comprises 6 single point boring tools ①,
which can be fitted with insert holders ②
for various replaceable inserts.
All tools are equipped with a digital dis
play and automatic balancing. The preci
sion boring tools are manufactured in
the lightweight construction AluLine for
holes with a diameter bigger than 65 mm
(2.559").
All tools in this series have a Wohlhaupter
connection ③ , internal coolant
feed ④ up to the cutting edge and are
suitable for minimum coolant flow.

3. Balance
The precision boring tools of the
digital series are automatically balanced
with every diameter adjustment. The
imbalance, which normally occurs when
adjusting the cutting edge holder, is
reduced to a minimum by mass balancing
in the tool.
Any necessary precision balancing can
be carried out on the complete tool with
threaded pins screwed into extension/
reducing adapters from the outside. This
means that the residual imbalance based
on the complete tool can easily be achie
ved for different quality levels Q as a
function of the operating speed.
No additional balancing surfa-
ces or holes must be added to
this boring tool!
The max. permissible residu-
al imbalance of the machine manufac-
turer must be observed (if necessary,
complete tools have to be balanced).
