9. Using the device for the fi rst time
When using the device for the first time, the radio starts in DAB+ mode
with a station search. The date and time are set automatically. The dis-
play language is set to English by default.
9.1.

Switching the device on/off

 When operating the device using the mains adapter, press the
button briefly to switch on the device.
 When operating the device using the battery, press and hold the
button for at least 2 seconds to switch on the device.
 To switch the device to standby mode, press and hold the

During mains operation, the time is also displayed when the
device is switched off. During battery operation, the device
automatically switches itself off from standby mode.
9.2.

Adjusting the aerial

 Pull out the telescopic aerial on the back of the device completely.
The aerial should be fully extended to ensure good signal re-
ception and sound quality. When adjusting the telescopic
aerial, the stations may have to be searched again (see sec-
tion "1 1. Radio mode" on page 51).

10. Setting the volume

 When the device is in use, turn the
clockwise to decrease the volume.
