Symbol P (green) = motor/airflow indicator
The display shows the following 'P' numbers to indicate the motor power used to maintain the minimum
flowrate. The motor power needed to maintain flowrate is very much dependent on the filters and facepiece
used. A low 'P' number does not itself indicate any defect on the device.
P9 - The device will easily maintain the minimum flow rate.
P0 - The device has either reached or dropped below the minimum flow rate with full motor power. This
means the user may not be receiving the minimum air flow rate and the battery will deplete rapidly.
If a P0 status is reached, the buzzer will sound and the display will flash. The device will continue to attempt
to maintain the minimum air flowrate but the user must leave the hazardous area immediately and investigate
the possible cause when safe to do. The P0 status could indicate there is a blockage of the filters, facepiece
or device inlets/outlet. This can also suggest the filters require replacement.
Note: The flowrate should be checked before using the device to ensure that the Manufacturer's Minimum
Design Flowrate (MMDF) is met (see Check Before Use).
USE
See Instructions for Use of the facepiece and filter to be used.
Always use 2 filters of the same type and class.
Screw the filters hand-tight. Do not use excessive force, it may damage the blower.

Check before use

Intactness of facepiece and blower device
Filters are intact and properly fastened to the blower device. Shake the filter to ensure that there are no
loose components/contents. The filter shall be replaced if it has been exposed to strong press or impact. It
may be damaged, also by a fall on a hard surface, also when attached to a blower device.
Breathing hose is tightly fixed to the blower device and facepiece.
Flowrate check
1.
With filters attached, allow the blower device to run for 1 minute before attaching the airflow indicator
tube into the outlet (see Fig 1, page 5).
2.
Wait for an additional 5 minutes to allow the airflow to stabilise and the float to rise.
3.
With the airflow indicator in the vertical position (see Fig 2, page 5), check that the marking '160' is on
or above the line to indicate that the Manufacturer's Minimum Design Flowrate (MMDF) is met (see
Fig 3, page 5).
Note: If the marking '160' is below the line, ensure you have clean filters attached and leave the blower
device to run for a further 5 minutes before checking again. If the airflow is still below 160 l/min, remove the
blower device from service and return to an Authorised Service Centre.
Check adequate air flow and state of the battery
Assemble all items ready for use (facepiece connected) but do not don the unit.
Start the blower by pressing the power button, the buzzer will sound once to signal the blower is operating.
Battery status A8-A9 indicates a fully charged battery. A lower A number (A1-A7) is safe to use but indicates
that the battery is not full. Full duration time will require a fully charged battery.
Airflow status P9-P1 indicates the motor power being used to maintain the minimum air flowrate. Do not use
if the display shows P0.
If an error code is visible, follow the actions detailed in this user instruction.
Don the blower device. Carry the device so that you can check the blower's display when working.Donning
instructions for the facepieces are given in the respective Instructions for Use.After use
Stop the blower device by depressing the power button.
Doff the unit. Carry out the necessary maintenance for the blower device and recharge the battery.
