The emitter protection tube is forced up-
wards by the water pressure.
►Never pressurize unit unless the upper emitter
protection tube lock (9) is in place.
►For safety reasons, the UV emitters may only
be started in the UV disinfection unit when the
blue protective cap is in place.
● Open the water inlet to the unit and vent the unit.

Operation and Maintenance

8.1

Cleaning the unit

Whenever a radiator is replaced, the radiation protection tube and the
irradiation chamber should be cleaned. Depending on the water quality
and the operating mode of the unit, it may also be necessary to clean
the unit more frequently. Cleaning the unit removes deposits of scale,
iron and manganese from the radiator protection tubes and (in case of
chemical cleaning) from the walls of the irradiation chamber.
8.2

Chemical cleaning

● Disconnect the power plug.
● Close the shutoff valves.
● Open the drain valve and allow the water to run out.
● Connect a cleaning device (SEK 20 or Kalk-Ex Mobil) to the drain
valve (14) and the venting valve (13) (on some models, the automa-
tic venting valve must be removed).
● Mix the acid cleaner (Order No. 58075) with a concentration of 1-2%
● Rinse the unit for 30 minutes with the cleaning solution.
● Thouroughly rinse the unit with water.
● Open the shutoff valves and vent the irradiation chamber.
● The unit can now be put back into service.
