8. Inserting and removing the carbide bur or diamond bur
8.1 Insert the carbide bur or diamond bur
Carefully press the push button with your thumb and simultaneously insert the carbide bur or diamond bur (Fig.8-1

NOTE
Only use the carbide bur or diamond bur that correspond to ISO1797-1 Type 3 and meet the following criteria:
– Shaft diameter: 1.59 – 1.60 mm
– Overall length max. 25 mm
– Shaft chucking length: at least 11 mm
– Blade diameter: max. 2 mm
CAUTION
When inserting the carbide bur or diamond bur
– Observe the Instructions for Use of the carbide bur or diamond bur and use them properly, especially rotational speed of the carbide bur or
diamond bur should reach the required speed of the medical device, a lower speed of the carbide bur or diamond bur than required speed of the
medical device is not permitted.
– Never use the carbide bur or diamond bur with worn, damaged or distorted shaft; otherwise they fall out during treatment to injure the patient. A

distorted shaft will reduce the bearings and rotor service life.
– Never use the worn and distorted blade of the carbide bur or diamond bur; otherwise they could cause premature deterioration of the rotor and
premature wear of the bearings.
– Keep the carbide bur or diamond bur clean. A dirty or unclean shaft being inserted into the chucking system will cause unfi rmed clamping.
– Insert the carbide bur or diamond bur to the bottom of the chucking system and pull on it to check that it is securely held and that the chucking

9. Care and maintenance

9.1 Manual external cleaning and disinfection
– Brush o under fl owing tap water with medium hard toothbrush
– Let the head upward and wash the body under fl owing tap water to remove residual cement and composite or blood.
– Wipe down the medical device with a lint-free cloth immersed in cleanser
– Spray the disinfectant on a link-free cloth, and thoroughly wipe down the medical device.
