Wind resistance classes
Wind resistance classes
The awning has a wind resistance class 1 and must be retracted in case the wind force is
higher than 4.
The awning manufacturers must test their products for wind resistance and declare the
correct wind resistance class. DIN EN 13561 defines corresponding wind resistance classes
with their allocated wind forces according to Beaufort. If no test has been performed and/or
Wind Resistance Class 1 has not been reached, the awning must be given Wind Resistance
Class 0.
The following table shows the wind resistance classes in accordance with DIN EN 13561 and
their allocated wind forces according to Beaufort.
