11. Initial setup

If the display is not on when you remove the watch from the packaging, this
does not indicate that the battery is empty. In order to protect the battery,
the manufacturer places the watch in standby mode. Press any button to
turn on the watch.
The user profile will be configured automatically when you turn the watch on for the first time.
You can also configure the user profile manually – when the watch displays the time, hold down
the SET button for three seconds.
The watch resets itself when you remove the battery, so you will need to
reconfigure the settings after inserting a new battery.
• To switch between imperial and metric units, press the SEL button. The
following units are available: Weight (pounds, kilograms) and height (feet/
inches and centimetres).
• To switch between 12 and 24-hour mode, press the SET button. "12H" or
"24H" will flash on the display; press the SEL button to select the desired
mode. In 12-hour mode, the watch will display "A" (am) or "P" (pm).
• Press the SET button until the second value flashes. Press the SEL button to
reset the second value to "00".
• Press the SET button until the minute value flashes. Configure the minute
value using the SEL button.
• Press the SET button to go to the next setting (hours).
• Configure the other settings (hours, year, month and date) as described
above. Use the SEL button to select the value and then apply the setting
using the SET button.
• When BIRTHDAY is shown on the display, select your year of birth (1901-
2011) using the SEL button. Configure the other settings for your date of birth
(month and day). Use the SEL button to select the value and then apply the
setting using the SET button. The day of the week is calculated automatically.
• When WEIGHT is shown on the display, enter your weight (30 - 220 kg or
66 - 480 lb). Configure the flashing value using the SEL button and then press
SET to go to the next setting.
• When HEIGHT is shown on the display, enter your height (100 - 240 cm or
3'0" - 7'11"). Configure the flashing value using the SEL button and then press
SET to go to the next setting.
• Once you have configured your user profile, press the MODE button to save
your settings.
