Electrical Safety

The electric motor has been designed for one
voltage only. Always check that the power supply
corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

accordance with EN 60745; therefore no
earth wire is required.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by a specially prepared cord available through the
D
WALT service organisation.

Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in
the plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING: No connection is to be
made to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 13 A.
Using an Extension Cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved
3–core extension cable suitable for the power
input of this tool (see technical data). The minimum

conductor size is 1.5 mm
; the maximum length is
30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS

WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs. Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Replacing the Blade (fi g. 1a, 1b)
1. Remove the knurled nuts (d) and the cover
plate (c).
2. Hold the spindle using the sickle spanner and
remove the front flange by turning it clockwise.
3. Change the blade.

4. Tighten the flange securely by turning it
counterclockwise while holding the spindle with
the sickle spanner.
5. Mount the cover plate and tighten the
knurled nuts.
Adjusting the Depth of Cut (fi g. 2)
The correct depth of cut for biscuit jointing is
determined by the size of the biscuit dowel:

To set the correct depth of cut, turn the adjuster (b)
as required. The depth of cut can be read from the
scale.
Adjusting the Blade to the Panel
Thickness (fi g. 3)
The fine adjuster (e) allows centring the grooving
blade in the panel edge.
1. Slacken the locking knob (n).
2. Adjust the fine adjuster (e) as required. The
setting can be read from the scale (m).
3. Tighten the locking knob.
Mounting and Adjusting the Parallel
Fence (fi g. 1a)
1. Slacken the locking bolts (l).
2. Insert the rods of the parallel fence into the
corresponding holes in the base of the tool.
3. Set the parallel fence to the desired position.
4. Tighten the locking bolts.
Mounting the Mitre Fence (fi g. 1a)
1. Slacken the locking bolts (l).
2. Fully insert the rods of the mitre fence into the
corresponding holes in the base of the tool.
3. Tighten the locking bolts.
Mounting the Cutting Insert
(fi g. 1b, 4)
1. Remove the knurled nuts (d) and the cover
plate (c).
2. Carefully place the insert (p) in the recesses (o).
3. Mount the cover plate and tighten the
knurled nuts.
