Fasten the Allen screw 23.
Set the cutting depth (biscuit size) with the
scale 6. Mark the position (c).
Mark the biscuit joint centrally (d).
Place the vertical board according to the illustra-
tion on the right (board edge c).
Clamp both boards.
Place the machine on the board edge (c).
Cut the biscuit joint according to the marking (d).
Turn the machine 90° and cut the biscuit joint at
the front side of the upper board according to

Cutting with the guide rail
Cutting grooves or more than one biscuit joints in
a line is made with the guide rail.
Mount the angle guide 10.
The adhesive rail 13 can be removed by press-
ing apart the two lugs 12 (see figure B).
The adhesive coating prevents the guide rail
from slipping on the work piece and protects the
surface. The anodised finish of the guide rail re-
sults in easy gliding of the machine.
Place the guide rail on the workpiece and tighten
it with the two special screw-clamps (accessory).
Place the tool with the groove on the guide rail
(see ill. B).
Cut the groove evenly (counterrotation).
Remove the cutter and switch off the machine.
With the extension piece (accessory) two guide
rails can be joined. They are tightened with the
four screws.
Exchanging the cutters
Always remove the plug from the mains before
carrying out any work on the machine.
Unscrew the cover 29.
Lock the drive spindle by depressing the spindle
lock 15 in order to loosen and fasten the tension
flange 28.
Caution! Only press the spindle lock 15 when
the drive spindle is idle.
The surfaces between the clamping flange 28,
the cutting disk 27, the distance bush (26) and
the drive spindle 25 must be clean and free of
grease. The arrow on the protective cover 29
shows the cutting direction of the teeth.

Dust extraction

Dust vacuuming prevents dust from
collecting as well as high concen-
trations of dust in the air and facili-
tates the disposal of the cutting
chips.
For longer periods of working with wood or for
commercial use on materials producing dust that
is detrimental to health, the machine is to be con-
nected to a suitable external extraction device.
External Extraction.
When using a 35 mm dia. vacuum hose, an addi-
tional adapter must be used(1 600 499 005 - see
accessories).
The machine can be connected directly to the
socket of a Bosch All-purpose vacuum cleaner. It
switches on automatically when the machine is
switched on.
Internal Extraction
For small jobs, a dust bag can be used (accesso-
ry).
Insert the dust bag connection piece into the chip
ejector 4. Empty the dust bag regularly so that
the dust collection remains effective. For this pur-
pose, pull off the dust sack and remove the bag
clasp by pulling off to the side.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before working on machine disconnect from
power supply by removing plug from socket.
Always keep the machine and the ventilation
slots clean.
If the machine should happen to fail despite the
care taken in manufacture and testing, repair
should be carried out by an authorised customer
services agent for Bosch power tools.
For all correspondence and spare parts orders,
always include the 10 digit order number of the
machine!
WARNING! Important instructions for con-
necting a new 3-pin plug to the 2 wire cable.
