FIREPLACE INSERTS / HINGED DOORS

2.2 Fuel

Approved fuel
Dry, well-seasoned, natural firewood (preferably hardwood), wood
briquettes.
Round wood should be split at least once to make it burn better. The
diameter of the split log should not exceed 7 cm.
Maximum fuel quantity
Each fireplace insert is designed for a maximum quantity of wood (see
9.2 Technical Data). Larger quantities of fuel can lead to overheating
and damage to the stove!
Clean combustion
To ensure clean, low-emission combustion, dry (relative wood moisture
< 20%) and untreated firewood must be used. (Not only does wet wood
have a lower calorific value, it will also cause the panes of your fireplace
insert to become tarnished with soot much more quickly). Secondly, the
correct amount of firewood must be burned. Heat responsibly using dry firewood and so protect
people and the environment.
Burn only the approved fuel listed above. Waste materials must not be burned in the fireplace insert!
Burning non-approved fuels will invalidate the warranty and guarantee.
Burning or introducing easily combustible or explosive substances (such as empty aerosols and the like)
into the firebox and storing these in the immediate vicinity of your heating unit is strictly prohibited due to the
risk of explosion!

2.3 Before heating

The fireplace heater can only function properly if sufficient combustion air flows into the installation
room (the appliance), especially when several heat systems are operated simultaneously. Ensure
sufficient air supply prior to heating. Open the combustion air flap on the appliance and keep it open for
the entire combustion period. Devices for the supply of combustion air must not be modified.

2.4 Initial operation

Remove all enclosed documents and accessories from the fireplace and read the operating
instructions carefully before using for the first time
The initial operation of your fireplace system should take place no earlier than 4 weeks after
completion of the cladding, so that all cladding parts can dry out thoroughly.
For an optimum fire, please refer to paragraph 2.5 Lighting the fire.
When heating for the first time after installing, the fire should be kept very low for the first hour, and
only gradually increased by adding a larger amount of wood. However, the maximum quantity of wood,
which can be fed per hour, must not be exceeded.
The odours occurring when the fire is lit for the first time are caused by the evaporation of metal grease
and paint binding agents. These vapours are unpleasant but completely non-toxic. We therefore
recommend that you ventilate the room well when you light the fire for the first time.
