5. Operation

5.1 Commissioning

Charging the battery

- Before using the device for the first time, charge the internal battery with the
supplied charger.
- To do so, connect the USB port (14) of the device to the 5 V USB charging output
of the charger using the USB cable supplied and plug it into a power outlet.
- Leave the device switched off during initial charging.
- The active charging process is indicated by the red charging indicator (6):
 Shining red: charging process in progress
 Off: Battery fully charged
- After charging, disconnect the charging cable from the device.

Inserting an SD card

- Switch off the device and insert a microSD card into the card slot in the exact
position marked on the card slot until it clicks into place. Do not force it in; an
incorrect position can damage the card and the slot mechanism!
- Before use, the memory card must be formatted. You can find instructions in the
chapter "Menu" → "Formatting the SD card".
