4.11.5 Ballast Circuit
The drive unit has a 4-quadrant control. Therefore, it can
also work as a generator. During deceleration, the rotating
energy on the drive shaft is converted and fed back into
the power supply. If the energy in the supply grid cannot
be stored or used at the same time, the voltage in the
supply grid will increase significantly. If the supply voltage
is too high, there will be damage to the power supply or
other devices in the supply grid.

4.11.5 Ballastschaltung
Der Antrieb besitzt eine 4-Quadranten Regelung, deshalb
kann er auch als Generator arbeiten. Beim Bremsen wird
die an der Antriebswelle vorhandene Energie umgewan-
delt und in die Stromversorgung zurück gespeist. Kann
die Energie im Versorgungsnetz nicht gespeichert oder
zeitgleich verwendet werden, so steigt die Spannung im
Versorgungsnetz stark an. Folge einer überhöhten Versor-
gungsspannung sind Schäden an der Stromversorgung,
oder an anderen Geräten im Versorgungsnetz.
