Brushless controller
Congratulations on purchasing a ROXXY PROcontrol brushless
controller from our range. It is a top-of-the-line controller for brush-
less drive motors for airplane models and helicopters, in which par-
ticular emphasis has been placed on reliability and extensive pro-
gramming options.
! These operating instructions are part of the product.
They contain important information and safety advice. There-
fore, they should always be kept at hand and passed on when
selling the product to third parties.
SAFETY NOTES
!
! Read the instructions before using the controller
! Avoid heat build-up
Provide unobstructed air circulation round the controller
! Do not connect the flight battery with reversed polarity
Connecting the battery leads with reversed polarity will instantly
wreck the controller For this reason:
- red wire to the POSITIVE terminal (+)
- black wire to the NEGATIVE terminal (-)
! When soldering or working on the motor or controller
Always disconnect the battery (short-circuit / injury hazard)
! When testing and running the power system
Do not run the motor while holding it in your hand; always secure
the model firmly. Check that there is adequate space for the
propeller to rotate. Remove all objects from the area around the
propeller which could be sucked in or blown away (clothing,
paper etc.). Never stand in the rotational plane of the propeller
(injury hazard).
We wish you lots of fun and success with your new ROXXY
PROcontrol controller.
Safety information and user instructions
Always observe the safety instructions when operating the
ROXXY PROcontrol brushless controller.
- Note that the motor may start up unintentionally when connecting
the drive battery. Electric motors with connected batteries may
also start up suddenly due to mechanical or technical defects.
This may result in injuries. Always remove the propeller before
performing any adjustments.
- Protect the speed controller against vibrations, dust, moisture and
mechanical loads. Do not expose it to excessive heat or cold and
direct sunlight.
- Observe the specifications provided by the manufacturers of the
batteries being used. Only use batteries with the number of cells
stated in the specification.
- After use, remember to disconnect the battery from the controller.
The controller is designed exclusively for use with batteries. Never
operate the controller with a mains adapter.
- Check the controller regularly for damage.
- The controller may heat up during operation, so always ensure
optimum dissipation of the heat generated. The controllers are
equipped with temperaturemonitoring; when a temperature of
110
C is reached, the motor switches off.
o
- Do not modify the controller in any way. Note this also applies to
the battery connection cables, which must not be extended.

- The battery connections of the controller are not protected against
reverse polarity. The controller may be damaged if the poles are
reversed. Avoid short circuits at all times and make sure that the
polarity of the batteries is correct!
- Do not charge or discharge hot batteries, always let batteries cool
down first after use.
- After flying, allow the ROXXY PROcontrol brushless controller to
cool down thoroughly before using it again.
- The connection cables are color coded. Connect the red cable to
the positive terminal and the black cable to the negative terminal
of the battery. If the motor runs in the wrong direction, the direction
of rotation can be changed by simply swapping two motor connec-
tions. Never change the polarity of the battery connections.
- Always switch on the transmitter first and then the receiver; carry
out this procedure in reverse order when switching them off.
- Only use high-quality connecting wires and connectors.
- Do not open the controller to repair it. It is dangerous and any
warranty will be null and void. Always send the controller to our
Service team for repairs.
1. General description
You have purchased the ROXXY PROcontrol brushless controller;
an absolutely high-quality, digital microprocessor-controlled control-
ler. The newly developed controller is based on the latest technical
advances and is equipped with state-of-the-art components. Maxi-
mum performance combined with a lightweight and space-saving
design. An aluminum housing ensures perfect heat dissipation and
mechanical protection against damage.
This speed controller is, therefore, a technically advanced product.
It is designed to control sensorless, brushless electric motors in air-
plane models. The ROXXY PROcontrol controllers are equipped
with a very powerful SBEC (8 A continuous and up to 16 A peak);
the output voltage can be adjusted in stages to suit the respective
application. Pay attention to the maximum values stated in the speci-
fication. The motor power is controlled and reduced in case of over-
heating, battery undervoltage and signal loss.
