Tank installed in the ground

3.2.1

Fit the cable penetration sleeve (for grease separators installed in the ground)

Cable penetration sleeve art. no. 917823 must be used for
grease separators installed in the ground. This enables a
tight connection with the cable duct to be made.
Single neck separator
Place the cable penetration sleeve vertically in the tank
surface; pay attention to the distance between the inlet
and outlet (1).
Two-neck separator
Feed the cable penetration sleeve out of the tank, hori-
zontally, above the static level and note the distance from
the top of the tank (2).
Lay a PE-HD duct DN 40 (OD 50 mm) during the earth-
works.
Drill the tank with a hole saw Ø 60 mm.
The connection distance between separator and con-
trol unit must be kept as short as possible. Unnecessary
changes of direction, particularly ones at angles greater
than 45° must be avoided.
A cable pull wire can be included for any later cable
installation. The maximum cable extension is 60 m.
Insert the pipe penetration seal included in the cable pen-
etration set into the drillhole.
Grease the inside of the seal.
Push the cable penetration sleeve with the threaded end
piece on the inside of the tank and push out the tapered
end.
Connect the end of the cable penetration sleeve on site
with the cable duct (e.g. use bonded socket joint).
Unscrew the end piece, loosen the cable penetration
sleeve.
Lay the cable duct (DN 50) to the control unit on site; use
45°-bends only.
Connect the cable as shown in the connection diagram
attached to the control unit.
After feeding through the cable to the control unit, tighten
the cable gland at the duct closure. Close off the other
end so that it is odour and liquid tight.
Screw tight the end piece of the cable penetration sleeve
and the union nut of the cable gland.
