Installation

4.1

Installing the control unit

Select installation position taking the following into
account:
There is a safety socket in the direct vicinity of the con-
trol unit.
The control unit may not be operated in a potentially
explosive atmosphere.
The control unit can be fastened safely and suffi-
ciently.
Fit all fastening screws (L=168mm, drilling template
included in the scope of delivery). In doing so, ensure that
the distance (A) between the screw heads and the fasten-
ing surface is approx. 3 to 4 mm.
Hang the control unit on the fastening screws and press
downwards gently. (1)
4.2

Cable extension

The respective national regulations for electrical safety must be observed for the cable extension.
Mains cable
The mains cable is 1.25 m long. This cable can be extended on site by a qualified electrician up to max. 60 m without any
change in cross-section (0.75 mm
Sensor cable
The sensor cable can be extended up to 60 m on site. The cable extension must have IP67 rating. KESSEL has suitable
extension sets for this (art. nos. 917871, 917872, 917873)
4.3 Make the connections to the underside of the control units
Sensor cables may not be laid together with other electric
circuits in cable or conductor bundles. Avoid parallel laying
with other cables, if these cables can emit disturbance sig-
nals, which have a negative effect on the sensor signal. The
sensor itself may not be earthed.
CAUTION
After ending the installation, all cables connected
to the control unit must be fixed by suitable mea-
sures (e.g. cable ties) so that they do not cause a
hazard in a 1-fault case, i.e. if a connection loosens
or becomes undone.
