Commissioning of the Speed Controller, Switching On/Off
Caution!
Place the model vehicle so that the drive wheels do not touch the ground or any objects. Do not
touch the drive mechanism and do not block it! Risk of injury!
When the trimming at the transmitter has been changed, the motor can start up at once after the
speed controller is activated!
• Switch the transmitter on and then check the rechargeable battery or battery condition of the transmitter.
Put the trim for the driving/brake function into the centre position and check if the operating lever for the
driving/brake function is in the neutral position.
• Insert the drive battery into the vehicle and connect it to the speed controller via the connection cable
(10).
Attention!
Observe correct polarity of the connection cable of the speed controller: Red = plus (+) and black
= minus (-). The speed controller and the drive battery can be destroyed if connected incorrectly!
Danger of explosion/burns!
When plugging in the fully charged battery, a small spark may appear at the plug contacts (plop-
ping sound). This is normal, because in this moment, the input capacitors of the speed controller
are briefly charged with a high power impulse.
• If the programing card is connected to the speed controller, disconnect it from the speed controller.
• Now switch on the speed controller by briefly pushing the operating button (9).
If you have not done so yet, first programme the neutral position and the full throttle positions for
forward and reverse driving. Then check programming of the speed controller and change it if
necessary.
Specifically switching on and setting the undervoltage deactivation when using a LiPo drive bat-
tery are mandatory!
• To switch off the speed controller, keep the operating button (9) pushed for one second.
Function Test of the Speed Controller
If the operating lever for the drive/brake function at the transmitter is in the middle position (neutral position),
the wheels of the model must not turn.
If you move the operating lever for the driving/brake function towards forward driving (pull towards the hand-
le), the powered wheels of the model must turn in the forward direction.
Then move the operating lever from the forward position towards reverse driving without stop (push away
from the handle of the transmitter). Now the powered wheels of the model must be braked.
To switch to reverse driving, let the operating lever snap back to the middle position (neutral position) and
move it towards reverse driving after a brief pause (push away from the handle). The powered wheels of the
model now need to turn towards reverse driving.
Reverse driving is, of course, only possible if the speed controller has been programmed accordingly (drive
function „FWD to Brake and Reverse" is selected). For the drive function „Proportional Rev. Lock Out", the
throttle/brake lever must be in the neutral position for at least 2 seconds before you can drive backwards.
If the wheels turn precisely against the previously described function, reprogram the speed cont-
roller with the programming card (function „Motor Direction").
Swapping of 2 or 3 connection cables, which is possible in brushless motors, should not be
performed in a motor with sensor cable!
Operating Information
• The speed controller cannot be switched off via the operating button (9) while the motor is running. In case
of error (transmitter/receiver no longer reacts), simply disconnect the rechargeable battery from the speed
controller.
• If the throttle/brake lever is kept in the position for „Full throttle reverse" for at least 4 seconds, the speed
controller switches off the motor.
• The LED in the operating button (9) has the following display functions:
Throttle/brake lever in the neutral position and motor timing is 0°: LED flashes red
Throttle/brake lever in the neutral position and motor timing is > 0°: LED is lit red
The motor is running but the throttle/brake lever is not in the full throttle position: LED flashes green
The throttle/brake lever is in the full throttle position: LED is lit green
• If the undervoltage recognition is activated and if the voltage measured by the speed controller is undercut,
the vehicle stops. Terminate operation of the vehicle to avoid deep discharge and thus possible damage to
the drive battery.
• When the programming card is connected to the speed controller, the motor is deactivated for reasons of
safety.
End of Operation
• Put the throttle/brake lever in the neutral position and let the vehicle roll out.
• Switch off the speed controller (push the operating button at the speed controller for 1 second).
• Disconnect the drive battery from the speed controller entirely (this must also be done if the speed control-
ler cannot be switched off in case of fault, e.g. in case of a function fault of the transmitter/receiver).
• Now switch off the transmitter.

Troubleshooting

The speed controller does not work and the fan is not running.
• Switch on the speed controller.
• Check the drive battery and the wiring between the drive battery and the speed controller.
• Connect a fully charged drive battery to the speed controller and switch on the speed controller.
The speed controller does not work and the fan is running.
• Put the trim for the drive function at the transmitter in the middle position or reprogram the neutral position
The motor stops suddenly.
• Either the model is outside of transmitter range and receives no control signal from the receiver, or the
The motor does not react properly to the transmitter's control commands.
• Check all cables and connections for line break or loose contact.
• Programme the neutral position and the full throttle positions for forward/reverse driving again.
• Check the programming of the speed controller (with the programming card).
Maintenance and Care
The speed controller is maintenance-free for you. Do not disassemble it.
Before cleaning, turn the speed controller off and completely disconnect the drive battery from the speed
controller. If you have driven the vehicle before, let the speed controller cool down completely first.
Clean the speed controller, e.g. with a long-haired clean brush and a vacuum cleaner. Compressed air
aerosols can also be helpful.
Disposal
a) General Information
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batte-
ries. Disposing of them in household waste is prohibited!
You may return used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collection points in your
community, in our stores, or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
