10.5 Optional sanitary circulation (TWZ) and thermal disinfection

Pre-adjustment of DWC:
- DWC is permanently on (with or without connection for external activation)
- DWC pulse/monitoring in connection with time programmes: always active
Warning: For DWC, the domestic water pipes must be carefully flushed and filled with domestic water!
All valid and recognised rules governing the technology, such as the DVGW worksheets (especially
DVGQ 551), DIN standards, VDE regulations and relevant accident prevention regulations must also
be observed!
A correctly set sanitary circulation in respect of duration and temperature will ensure reduced heat
losses, thereby saving energy.
DWC pulse/monitoring:
The sanitary circulation waits for a domestic hot water draw-off. As soon as a draw-off has been
identified, the sanitary circulation pump is switched on. At the end of the draw-off, a shut-off of
60 minutes begins. As soon as a new draw-off begins during the shut-off, the shut-off delay is reset.
If the rest period of the sanitary circulation is more than 8 hours within a 24-hour period, the
sanitary circulation is switched on for the remaining time.
Thermal disinfection:
The domestic water and sanitary circulation pipes can be thermally disinfected in the case of built-in
sanitary circulation pumps. To prevent risk of scalding, thermal disinfection, among other processes,
must be launched manually (e.g. via service mode in the app). Once the function has been activated,
the DWC pump starts and the regulating valve switches to provide the maximum heat of the primary
circuit for DHW heating,
Maximum run and hold times should be set for the specific system in question. The heat source must
be capable of providing enough heat energy.
Warning! There is a risk of scalding at the draw-off points after and during the disinfection function.
The following can result in the interruption of the disinfection function:
- Max. run time exceeded
- after three failed attempts (if the setpoint temperature is not achieved within 10 minutes)
