3.6 Application
The Caremaster is used primarily for repositioning in bed. The inner surface consists of low friction material.
The outer surface consists of carbon-fibre reinforced latex-free material which has breathable and liquid-
repellent properties. Thanks to the pulling loops, the Caremaster can also be used for heavy patients.
Placing the sliding mat Caremaster
Optimal application of the Caremaster is achieved by having the sliding surfaces on top of one another.
Place the patient on their side.
Fold the Caremaster widthwise, the pulling loops have to be on top!
Fold the Caremaster under itself by 1/3 of the length.
Place the top with pulling loops at head height on the patient.
Adjust the length (the folded end should stop a hand width below the gluteal sulcus).
Place the patient on their back.
Pull the folded under third through sideways underneath the patient.
Moving toward the head
Prerequisites: The legs can be flexed. Use of an Non-Slip Mat is recommended in this case!
-
Flex the patient's legs.
-
The patient can be pulled upward using the pulling loops.
If the legs cannot be flexed, then an additional Sliding Mat is required (e.g. PM-2010).
