1. General
1.1 Use
The KESSEL backwater valves are inten-
ded for installation in gravity fed waste-
water pipes.
The KESSEL backwater valves must be
kept in good working order at all times
and be easily accessible. The flaps are
normally closed and open automatically
to allow outflowing water to pass.
The double and single flap lockable back-
water valves have a manually lockable
flap as an emergency stop. This enab-
les the valve to be opened and closed
manually. If out of operation for a prolon-
ged period, the emergency flap should be
kept closed.
The single flap backwater valve does not
have the manual locking capability.

2. Installation

The particular model is supplied ready for
use and must only be connected to the
site relocated sewer line.
When installing the principles of EN
