7.3.2 CONNECTION OF THE RS485 DATA LINE

The second requirement necessary in order to use the DLM operating mode is to connect the RS485 data line
between the energy meter and the charging station. Refer to the instructions contained in the GWD6812 or
GWD6817 energy meter for the correct connection of the cable to the device terminals.
The charging station is provided with a double fixing terminal in the bottom right area.
In order to make the connection correctly, it is necessary to comply with the following recommendations:
- Use a BELDEN 3105A cable.
- It is recommended to maintain a distance of approx. 100 m between the charging station and the external energy
meter. It is however possible to exceed this limit in relation to the type of system and being careful to respect the
intrinsic limitations of the RS485 connection.
- It is necessary to guarantee the absence of disturbances to guarantee correct communication
- It is also necessary to insert the termination resistance of 120 Ohm on the serial line in order to minimise the
reflections, which is important for high bitrates and long cable distances.

7.3.3 CLEAN CONTACT CONNECTION

The station has a clean contact to remotely control some actions.
To ensure that is operates correctly, the following must be observed
- Short circuit current: 10mA
- Cable section: 1mm2
- Managed statuses: terminals short circuiting or terminals open
- Max. distance: 50mt
NOTE= the signal cable used must be free of disturbances from the power line.
