The clock
The receiver contains a clock which must be set to
the correct day and time when the receiver is first
plugged in or following a power cut. This is neces-
sary to ensure correct operation of the Timer.

– The LNB install screen displays the LNB local

oscillator (LO) frequencies.
These are set to the correct value for a particular
type of LNB but may need to be fine tuned for your
LNB.

When the LNB LO is off-tune, black or white speck-
les (sparklies) are produced on the picture.
Adjust the frequency back and forth to give the
least sparklies of either colour or remove all the
sparklies.

You can switch to the next or previous menu option
by means of the | or ] key.

Repeat this adjustment for the second LNB.

If the display indicates RTL 2 when it should show
ZDF, you have the incorrect LNB fitted. This can be
corrected for by altering the LNB LO frequency
from 9.750 to 10.000 by means of the numeric keys
and then fine tuning as before.
Increasing the LNB LO frequency will reduce the
number of white sparklies and decreasing the
frequency eliminates the black sparklies.
How to activate and deactivate the 22 kHz switching
voltage for the respective channel position is ex-
plained in the section "Channel Setup".
Switching on/off the LNB power
Under the menu option "LNB POWER ON/OFF" you
can switch on and off the LNB power by means of
the
or
key.

You must select, for example, "LNB POWER OFF",
for a single cable installation with several receivers
connected.
The factory default setting is "LNB POWER ON".
Store the settings with the
O
key.
Press the

key twice to terminate the settings.
It is in addition possible to switch on and off the
power of the two LNBs by means of two switches at
the back of the STE 1000 (see figure).
Use a pointed object (e.g. a ball pen) for actuating
the switches. When switching on the LNB power
again in the menu, the respective switch must be
activated too.
