To avoid dry-running of the pump, it may only be permanently operated with housing and
suction line being primed.
With pumps located above the water level, open the strainer cover and fill the pre-filter
with water. Pumps located below the water level are self-priming if all piping is also below
the water level. After the priming process, switch on the power and open all suction and
discharge valves. It might take some time for the pump to remove the air from the suction
lines. If no water flow is observed after 5 minutes, switch off the power and restart the
priming process. If the pump does not work properly, check for air leaks. Refer to the
Troubleshooting section for that.
After about 10 minutes of operation, please check the discharge fittings for air bubbles.
A continuous air flow indicates a leak in the suction line. Locate and repair it immediately.
The shut-off valve in the suction line must be kept open during operation.
If it is necessary to control the outlet pressure or the water quantity, please use a valve in
the discharge line.
Caution: Never open the filter cover during operation.
Caution: Do not put the pump into operation when suction or discharge valves are
closed.
Consult your plumber for advice on winterising your pump.
1. Motors are self-lubricating – no additional lubrication required.
2. Clean hair and lint strainer on a regular basis
3. Visually inspect the motor for blockage of air vents and remove any dirt.
4. Shaft seals may become worn and must be replaced if leakage is observed.
Separate the device from the power supply. Close the valves in suction and discharge line.
Open the cover of the pre-filter counterclockwise and remove the filter basket for clea-
ning. Insert the basket again properly. Clean the O-ring and re-lubricate it with petroleum
jelly if necessary. Clean the O-ring seats on the cover and strainer. Refit the cover and
strainer – hand tighten only – and open the valves. Put the pump back into operation.
Caution: Do not open the filter cover during operation.
