Discharging and disconnecting the PxtRX active energy
management device
Risk of damage!
Disconnecting the storage unit from the PxtRX active energy
management device during operation will destroy the device.
Unauthorized disconnection can also be caused by incorrectly
dimensioned fuses in the connection to the storage unit.
Disconnection of the PxtRX from the storage unit during
operation is strictly prohibited.
• As long as the energy storage unit is active, disconnecting the PxtRX active energy
management device from the storage unit is prohibited.
• In the case of large storage units, a suitable discharging device or cut-off device
must be used where applicable.

• If your application requires a fast, active discharge, please contact
Michael Koch GmbH for project planning.

Disconnecting the PxtRX and the PxtEX Extension unit

Disconnect the DC circuit (DC link) from the power supply and switch off 24 V.
PxtRX discharges.
Depending on the number of energy modules, this can take several minutes.
Wait until the operating displays L1 to L4 are no longer lit.
The storage tank must now be discharged to a voltage of <60 V.
Measure voltage at terminals "Drive +" and "Drive -" (X1, Pin 1 and 2) and
"Storage +" and "Storage -" (X5, Pin 1 and 2).
Disconnect the PxtRX active energy management device from the DC circuit.

Disconnecting the PxtRX and the DLCM

De-energise the DC circuit (DC link).
Discharge the DLCM with a suitable discharging device.
Wait until the DLCM has been discharged.
Remove the enable for the PxtRX (digital In 3 low).
Measure voltage at terminals "Drive +" and "Drive -" (X1, Pin 1 and 2) and
check for absence of voltage at the storage unit (DLCM).
Disconnect the DLCM by opening the two-pole fuses.
Disconnect the PxtRX active energy management device from the DC circuit.
