ESCRIPTION OF THE DEVICE

Intended use

The PxtRX active energy management device is used for the storage and supply of
energy from and to the DC circuits of applications. In this process, energy from a DC
circuit, such as a DC circuit (DC link) of a frequency converter, is converted into a DC
voltage with lower voltage values by means of a DC/DC converter and stored.
Storage involves the use of capacitive or chemical storage media such as capacitors
or accumulators. If required, the stored energy is subsequently converted back to a
higher DC voltage level and made available to the application.
The active PxtRX energy management device may only be operated on a
non-regenerative application.
In all other cases, Michael Koch GmbH must be consulted immediately - the device
must not be put into operation.
The connecting cables (cross-section to comply with your national standards)
between the PxtRX active energy management device and the DC link of the
application must be shorter than 20 m, must be laid as a twisted pair and must be
secured against short circuits.
Double-layer capacitor modules (DLCM) can be connected to the PxtRX. The nominal
voltage must match the storage voltage set in the PxtRX. Other parameters such as
ESR and current carrying capacity must also match the settings in the PxtRX.
Protective devices (e.g. covers) may not be removed.
The PxtRX active energy management device is to be used within electrical cabinets
in the industrial area. Operation in areas at risk of explosion is prohibited.
Unauthorised modifications are prohibited.
Unauthorised modifications will invalidate all claims under warranty and liability.
Repairs may only be undertaken by the manufacturer.

Applied guidelines

The PxtRX active energy management device fulfils the basic requirements of
Directive 2014/35/EU (Low Voltage Directive) and Directive 2014/30/EU
(EMC Directive).
