Fault Localisation, Troubleshooting

CAUTION
Remediation of any of the faults
described below may only be
carried out by a trained technician.
Fault
Pump does not start.
No or insufficient pump
pressure.

Maintenance

The indicated maintenance intervals are based on
single-shift operation. Depending on the use site,
medium and cases of multi-shift operation,
maintenance may need to be performed more
frequently.
WHEN
During every drum changeover
Weekly
CAUTION
All work on the plant absolutely
must be done when it is idle.
The pneumatic and hydraulic
systems must be de-pressurised.
The manometers must show 0 bar.
Possible cause
No compressed air supply.
Pump pressure control valve
(Fig. F/no. 14) out of adjustment.
Empty detector limit switch
(Fig. I/no. 21) tripped (option).
Leakage or kinked lines.
Pressure on follower plate
(Fig. E/no. 11) too low.
Air pressure too low.
WHAT
Check for damage to the follower plate
Check hoses and fittings for leaks
Resolution
Check compressed air supply and
shutoff valve (Fig. F/no. 12+13).
Set pressure control valve to higher
pressure (rising) (Fig. F/no. 14).
Load full container.
Inspect hoses and fittings.
Increase pressure carefully on
follower plate pressure control valve
(Fig. F/no. 15).
Check compressed air supply.
