Always disconnect the battery from the power tool before performing any work.
Condition
Running time is too short
Rapid succession of beeps sound for sev -
eral seconds and 4 light emitting diodes on
battery flash red
Four long beeps sound and 1 light emitting
diode on battery flashes green
Adapter jams when being inserted in power
tool / charger
Battery is not being charged even though
the light emitting diode on the charger glows
green
Light emitting diode on charger flashes red

Cause
Battery is not fully charged
Useful life of battery has been reached
or exceeded
Fault in battery
Battery discharged
Guides dirty
Battery too hot / too cold
(1 light emitting diode on battery glows
red)
No electrical contact between charger
and battery
Fault in battery
(4 light emitting diodes on battery flash
red and a rapid succession of beeps
sound for several seconds)
Fault in charger
Remedy
Charge the battery
Have battery checked and replaced by
STIHL servicing dealer
Disconnect battery from power tool, take it
off your back, observe battery and contact
your STIHL servicing dealer immediately.
If the battery emits fumes, heats up, smells,
makes noises or shows signs of deforma -
tion, disconnect it from the power tool, take
it off your back, put it down and immediately
move a safe distance away. Keep children
and animals away from the work area. Keep
battery away from combustible materials.
Charge the battery
Carefully clean the guides
Allow battery to cool down / allow battery to
warm up slowly at temperature of about
15°C - 20°C
Operate charger only in closed, dry rooms
at ambient temperatures between +5°C and
+40°C
Remove the adapter and refit it again
Disconnect battery from charger, observe
battery and contact your STIHL servicing
dealer immediately.
If the battery emits fumes, heats up, smells,
makes noises or shows signs of deforma -
tion, disconnect it from the charger and
immediately move a safe distance away.
Keep children and animals away from the
work area. Keep battery away from combus -
tible materials.
Have charger checked by STIHL servicing
dealer.
