2. General safety instructions

You have purchased a RECARO seat, which will bring you additional comfort and increase your personal
safety.
However, the seat can only fulfil its purpose and function correctly when it is installed correctly and fully in
accordance with the directions and instructions given in these installation instructions, and if all of the hazard
and precautionary warnings are taken into account.
Warning:
Installation of RECARO seats and connection of the electrical and pneumatic components must be
always be carried out by a specialist workshop.
You are only permitted to install the seat yourself if you have the required expertise and special
tools needed for the installation. You must also observe the basic principles of thoroughness,
patience and precision. Incorrect installation may lead to restrictions or impairment of the seat's
functions and your safety.
During the installation, ensure that the electrical and pneumatic connections do not become
contaminated or damaged.
Also ensure that the battery has been disconnected and that no voltage is present before starting
any work on the vehicle's electrical system.
Should the electrical plug and / or the pneumatic connection on the hose/cable harness adapter
prove to be incompatible with the vehicle's connections, then these connections must be made by
a specialist workshop.
If an original seat without electrical comfort functions is being replaced by a RECARO seat, then
the electrical plug for the vehicle on the supplied hose/cable harness adapter can be removed.
The cable harness must then be connected up to a suitable power source inside the vehicle by a
specialist. See the circuit diagram in Chapter 5.
Despite great care having been taken in the design of the electrical plug and / or the pneumatic
connections on the hose/cable harness adapter, it cannot be ruled out that these may be
incompatible with some vehicle connections. In this case, please inform KEIPER GmbH & Co. KG
(see address on the last page).
