1 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Das Ladegerät BC-1800L dient zum Aufladen von 6-V- und
12-V-Blei-Akkus (z. B. für Fahrzeuge, Motor räder, Boote, im
Modellbau etc.). Für den An schluss an die Batterie liegen
dem Gerät ein Kabel mit Krokodilklemmen sowie ein Klein -
spannungsstecker bei.
2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Das Gerät entspricht allen relevanten Richtlinien der EU und
ist deshalb mit gekennzeichnet.
WARNUNG Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netz-
spannung versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie-
mals selbst Eingriffe am Gerät vor. Es besteht
die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlages.

Verwenden Sie das Gerät ausschließlich zum Laden von
6-V- oder 12-V-Blei-Akkus.

Setzen Sie das Gerät nur im Innenbereich ein. Schüt zen
Sie es vor Tropf- und Spritzwasser, hoher Luft feuch tigkeit
und Hit ze (zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).

Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße, z. B.
Trinkglas, auf das Gerät.

Die in dem Gerät entstehende Wärme muss durch Luft -
zirkulation abgegeben werden. Decken Sie deshalb die
Lüftungsschlitze des Gehäuses nicht ab. Sorgen Sie wäh -
rend des Ladevorgangs für ausreichende Belüftung in der
Umgebung des Akkus.

Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb bzw. ziehen Sie
sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose:
1. wenn sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder am Netzkabel
vorhanden sind,

1 Applications
The charger BC-1800L serves for recharging 6 V and 12 V
lead batteries (e. g. for vehicles, motorbikes, boats, model
making, etc.). For connecting the battery, the unit is supplied
with a cable with alligator clips and a low-voltage plug.
2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to all relevant directives of the EU and is
therefore marked with .
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains voltage.
Leave servicing to skilled personnel only.
Inexpert handling of the unit may result in
electric shock.

Only use the unit for recharging 6 V or 12 V lead batteries.

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it against
dripping water and splash water, high air humidity, and
heat (admissible ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the unit, e. g.
a drinking glass.

The heat generated within the unit must be carried off by
air circulation. Therefore, never cover the air vents of the
housing. While charging, ensure a sufficient ventilation in
the area around the rechargeable battery.

Do not operate the unit or immediately disconnect it from
the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the unit or the mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled personnel.

dose, fassen Sie immer am Stecker an.

Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes, weiches
Tuch, niemals Wasser oder Chemi kalien.

Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, falsch an geschlossen
bzw. bedient oder nicht fachgerecht repariert, kann keine
Haftung für daraus resultierende Sach- oder Personen-
schäden und keine Garantie für das Gerät übernommen
werden.
Werfen Sie defekte Akkus nicht in den Hausmu ̈ ll, sondern
geben Sie sie nur in den Sondermu ̈ ll (z. B. Sammelbehäl-
ter bei Ihrem Einzelhändler).
Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb ge nom -
men werden, übergeben Sie es zur umweltgerech -
ten Entsorgung einem örtlichen Re cyc ling betrieb.
3 Inbetriebnahme
1) Mit dem Schalter am Gerät die Nennspannung des Blei-
Akkus einstellen: 6 V
2) Für den Anschluss des Akkus entweder das beiliegende
Kabel mit den Krokodilklemmen oder den beiliegenden
Adapterstecker verwenden. Dabei un bedingt darauf ach-
ten, dass der Akku nicht verpolt angeschlossen wird.
Anschluss über das Kabel mit den Klemmen:

gerät-Kabels stecken. Die rote Klemme am Pluspol

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord ance
with the following code:
blue = neutral, brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appli-
ance may not correspond with the coloured mark ings
identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con nected to
the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter
N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con nected
to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or
coloured red.
Rechargeable batteries which are dead or defective do not
belong in the household rubbish; always take them to a
special waste disposal (e. g. return them to your retailer or
take them to public collecting containers for batteries).
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal
which is not harmful to the environment.
3 Operation
1) Use the switch on the unit to adjust the nominal voltage
of the rechargeable lead battery: 6 V

Connection via the cable with clips:
Connect the plug of the cable to the inline jack of the
cable of the charger. Fix the red clip to the positive
pole of the battery and the black clip to the negative
pole of the battery.
Connection via the adapter plug:
Connect the plug to the inline jack of the cable of the
charger. Observe the polarity required for connecting
the battery: To determine the polarity, turn the inline
jack in such a way that the arrows of inline jack and
plug face each other (see figures below). Then connect
the charger via the plug to the connection of the battery.

indicate operation. The charging process starts.
