1 Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Mit dem Lade-/Entladegerät können NC-Akkus der fol-
genden Größen schnell aufgeladen werden:
2 oder 4 Mignonzellen (UM 3), AA oder
2 oder 4 Microzellen (UM 4), AAA
Akkus mit einer eventuellen Restladung lassen sich vor
dem Aufladen vollständig entladen. Dadurch wird die
volle Akkukapazität langfristig erhalten und der
„Memory"-Effekt vermieden.
Nach dem Laden der Akkus schaltet das Gerät auto-
matisch auf Erhaltungsladung um. Ein geringer Lade-
strom gleicht dabei die Akkuselbstentladung aus.
2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht der Richtlinie für elektro-
magnetische Verträglichkeit 89/336/EWG und der Nie-
derspannungsrichtlinie 73/23/EWG.
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netzspannung
(230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb niemals
selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor. Durch unsachgemäßes
Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr eines elektrischen
Schlages. Außerdem erlischt beim Öffnen des Gerä-
tes jeglicher Garantieanspruch.
Beachten Sie für den Betrieb auch unbedingt die fol-
genden Punkte:
•
Mit diesem Ladegerät dürfen nur Nickel-Cadmium-
Akkus aufgeladen werden. Trockenbatterien sind
nicht wieder aufladbar und können, beim Versuch sie
aufzuladen, auslaufen oder explodieren!
•
Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung in trockenen Räu-
men geeignet.
•
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit und Hitze
(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0-40 °C).
•
Auch wenn das Gerät ausgeschaltet ist, hat es einen
geringen Stromverbrauch.

Rechargeable NiCd Batteries
1 Applications
With the charger/discharger rechargeable NiCad batter-
ies of the following sizes can rapidly be charged:
2 or 4 pcs. of AA size or
2 or 4 pcs. of AAA size
Rechargeable batteries with a remaining charge may be
completely discharged prior to charging. The full capac-
ity of the rechargeable batteries is thus maintained for a
long time and the "memory" effect is avoided.
After charging of the rechargeable batteries, the unit
automatically switches to trickle charging: a low charg-
ing current compensates for the self-decharging of the
rechargeable batteries.
2 Safety Notes
This appliance corresponds to the directive for electro-
magnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the low volt-
age directive 73/23/EEC.
This unit uses dangerous mains voltage (230 V~). To
prevent a shock hazard do not open the cabinet.
Leave servicing to authorized skilled personnel only.
Furthermore, any guarantee claim expires if the unit
has been opened.
Always watch the following items regarding the operation:
•
With this charger only nickel cadmium rechargeable
batteries must be charged. Dry batteries are not
rechargeable and may leak or explode when trying to
recharge them!
•
The unit is designed for use inside dry rooms only.
•
Protect the unit against humidity and heat (permissi-
ble operating temperature range 0-40 °C).
•
Even if the unit is switched off, it has a small power
consumption.
•
Do not take the unit into operation and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,

Das Gerät nicht in Betrieb nehmen, und sofort den
Netzstecker ziehen, wenn:
1. sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der Netzan-
schlußleitung vorhanden sind,
2. nach einem Sturz oder ähnlichem der Verdacht
auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Das Gerät in jedem Fall zur Reparatur in eine Fach-
werkstatt geben.
•
Eine beschädigte Netzanschlußleitung darf nur durch
den Hersteller oder durch eine autorisierte Fach-
werkstatt ersetzt werden.
•
Den Netzstecker nie an der Zuleitung aus der Steck-
dose ziehen.
•
Defekte oder verbrauchte Akkus dürfen nur in den
Sondermüll gegeben werden. Sie gehören nicht in
den Hausmüll.
•
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, falsch bedient oder
nicht fachgerecht repariert, kann für eventuelle Schä-
den keine Haftung übernommen werden.
•
Für die Reinigung nur ein trockenes Staubtuch ver-
wenden, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien oder Wasser.
3 Bedienung
Die Akkus müssen für eine Schnelladung geeignet
sein. Dieses ist an der Akkuaufschrift zu erkennen,
z. B. „Quick Charge" = Schnelladung.
1) Den Netzstecker in die Steckdose (230 V~/50 Hz)
stecken.
2) Entweder Mignon- oder Microzellen verwenden, nie-
mals beide Typen gleichzeitig. 1 oder 2 Akkupaare
jeweils in ein Doppelladefach einsetzen. Der Pluspol
muß, wie am Gerät aufgedruckt, zum Schiebeschal-
ter zeigen.
3) Um die volle Akkukapazität langfristig zu erhalten,
sollten Akkus mit einer Restladung vor jedem Auf-
laden vollständig entladen werden. Den Schiebe-
schalter ganz nach links in die Position „Dis Charge"
stellen. Die gelbe Kontrollanzeige „Discharge"

Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by
means of the mains cable.

If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated in the wrong way or not
repaired by authorized skilled personnel, there is no
liability for possible damage.
•
Use a dry dust cloth only for cleaning, by no means
chemicals or water.
•

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accor-
dance with the following code:
blue = neutral, brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured mark-
ings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as
follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal in the plug which is marked
with the letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter L or coloured red.
3 Operation
The rechargeable batteries must be suitable for quick
charging. This can be seen from the lettering on the
rechargeable battery, e. g. "quick charge".
1) Plug the mains plug into the mains socket (230 V~/
50 Hz).
2) Use either AA size or AAA size rechargeable batter-
ies, never both types at the same time. Insert 1 or 2
pairs of rechargeable batteries in a twin charging
compartment. The positive pole must point to the
slide switch as printed on the unit.

4) Ist die Entladung beendet, erlischt die gelbe Kon-
trollanzeige. Zum Laden der Akkus dann den Schie-
beschalter ganz nach rechts in die Position „Charge"
stellen.
5) Für jedes eingesetzte Akkupaar leuchtet eine rote
Kontrollanzeige „Fast". Die Ladezeit beträgt ca.
2 Stunden. Der Ladevorgang darf nicht unterbro-
chen werden.
6) Nach dem Laden schaltet das Gerät automatisch
auf Erhaltungsladung um. Die rote Kontrollanzeige
erlischt, die grüne Anzeige „Trickle" leuchtet auf.
7) Um die volle Ladung zu erhalten, die Akkus bis zum
Gebrauch im eingeschalteten Ladegerät lassen.
8) Zum Laden weiterer Akkus das Gerät ca. 20 Sekun-
den ausschalten (Schiebeschalter in Mittelposition
„Off/Reset"). Dann die Bedienschritte ab Punkt 2)
wiederholen.
9) Wird das Ladegerät nicht mehr benötigt, den Schie-
beschalter in die Mittelposition „Off/Reset" stellen,
und den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose ziehen.

3) To keep the full capacity of the rechargeable batteries
for a long time, a remaining charge of the batteries
should be discharged prior to charging. Set the slide
switch completely to the left to position "Dis Charge".
The yellow control lamp "Discharge" lights. The
rechargeable batteries are discharged. Discharging
of charged AA dischargeable batteries may take up to
1.5 hours.
4) If the discharging is completed, the yellow control
lamp stops lighting. Set the slide switch completely
to the right to position "Charge" for charging the
rechargeable batteries.
5) For each inserted pair of rechargeable batteries a
red control lamp "Fast" lights. The charging time is
approx. 2 hours. The charging process must not be
interrupted.
6) After charging, the unit automatically switches to
trickle charging. The red control lamp stops lighting
and the green lamp "Trickle" lights.
7) To keep the full charge, leave the rechargeable bat-
teries in the switched-on charger until they are
needed.
8) For charging further rechargeable batteries, switch
off the unit for approx. 20 seconds (slide switch in
center position "Off/Reset"). Repeat the operation
starting at point 2).
9) If the charger is not used, set the slide switch to the
center position "Off/Reset" and take the mains plug
out of the mains socket.
