Testing of Rechargeable Batteries
1) Set the right sliding switch to TEST position.
2) Insert a rechargeable battery in the right charging
compartment, with the positive and negative poles
as printed in the unit.
3) If the rechargeable battery is fully charged, the
right lamp lights brightly. The darker the lamp is
lighting, the more the rechargeable battery is dis-
charged. With the rechargeable battery completely
discharged, the lamp does not light at all.
Charging of Rechargeable Batteries
1) Set the right sliding switch to CHARGER position.
2) Choose the type of rechargeable battery with the
left sliding switch:

3) Only rechargeable batteries of the same type can
be recharged in any number as indicated above.
Insert the rechargeable batteries with the positive
and negative poles as printed in the unit. For this
draw back thecontact springs manually. With 9 V
rechargeable block batteries watch the positions
of the connection contacts in the charging shaft.
4) Connect the mains plug to the socket (230 V~/
50 Hz). As a power control the red lamp above the
left sliding switch is lighting. Above each charging
compartment there is a red control lamp which is
lighting while the respective rechargeable battery is
being recharged. If it does not light, the recharge-
able battery has been inserted in the wrong way.
5) The charging time depends on the type and the
charging condition of the rechargeable battery. As
a guideline the charging times are listed in the spe-
cifications.
6) After the charging procedure pull the mains plug out
of the socket and take out the recharged batteries.
