Alternatively, while one child turns the handle another can carefully hold a pen touching the
paper. By moving the pen away from the centre of the paper towards the outer edge, super
spiral patterns can be created.
If transparent paper is used, this enables the children to create abstract window pictures or great
lanterns. The paper can also be cut out into a round shape beforehand, using a template.
The finished pictures can also be further embellished to produce even more creative works of
art. For instance, they can be hung together to make a collage or a garland. You can also obtain
an interesting effect if two pictures are cut up and the parts arranged in a new combination.
Perhaps the round abstract can also be the body of a colourful fish, to which a couple of fins can
be added. The imaginative possibilities are limitless!
