Recharging the integrated accumulator
The accumulator that is permanently built into the solar mobile phone charger is not exchangeable and can
be recharged via the built-in solar cell or the USB cable included in the delivery.
• If you recharge the accumulator via the solar cell (1), the latter must be directed towards the sun in order
for the charging current to be as high as possible. If the solar cell is in a transport plastic fi lm, then you must
remove the latter. Fasten the solar mobile phone charger e.g. via the integrated suction cup.
To do this, unfasten the lever (8), press the suction cup on a fl at and preferably even window surface and
then pan the lever until it locks in place. Check that the solar charger is fi rmly mounted so that it cannot fall
down.
Make sure the suction cup lies fl at on the surface before you fasten it, otherwise the solar mobile
phone charger may come off quickly. In some cases, strong vibrations or air pressure changes
(weather changes) may also cause the suction cup to come off.
Caution!
If you decide to use the solar mobile phone charger in a vehicle, never place it directly into the
visual range of the driver!
• Use the USB power cable enclosed to recharge via USB. Connect the round plug to the socket (2) and
www.conrad.com
connect the USB plug e.g. to a USB port of your computer.
Version 10/11
• The red charge-control LED (3) is lit red during the charging process.
Charging the mobile phone
• Carefully pull out the cable with the connection jack (7). Do not use force.
• Connect the connection jack (7) to the adapter plug that is suitable for your mobile phone.
• Now connect the adapter plug with the corresponding charging socket of your mobile phone.
• If the accumulator integrated in the solar mobile phone charger is suffi ciently charged (or if the solar cell
provides enough charging current), the charging process will start.
• When the charging process is completed (or if the accumulator of the solar mobile charger does no longer
supply power), disconnect the mobile phone from the charger.
Alarm LED
A blue LED (4) is built into the solar mobile phone charger which simulates the blinking of a alarm system at
night. Move the sliding switch (5) to the position "AUTO".
At night the LED starts to blink (via the solar cell, if the charging current is too low).
If you do not need the function, move the sliding switch (5) to the "OFF" position.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Maintenance or repairs may only be performed by qualifi ed personnel or a specialist repair shop. The product
contains no parts that require servicing. Therefore, do not open/dismantle it.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not apply too much pressure on the housing, this could result
in scratch marks.
Disposal
Technical Data
Integrated rechargeable battery ...........Li-Ion 3.7 V/1600 mAh
Charging time .......................................Via solar cell with full insolation, about 8-9 h
Output ...................................................5 V/DC +/- 5%, 500 mA
Cable length .........................................max. 50 cm (with winding mechanism)
Dimensions ...........................................190 x 92 x 32 mm
Weight ..................................................171 g
Ambient temperature ............................-10 °C to +90 °C (inside vehicles)
The USB port must be able to provide a current of 500 mA, e.g. the USB port of the computer
itself or a USB hub with separate power supply unit.
Please note that notebooks, in some cases, only provide this current if they are operated via
their power packs.
Alternatively, you can use a wall plug transformer that has a USB power connector and is
capable of providing a current of at least 500 mA.
Prior to initial start-up, the rechargeable battery of the solar mobile phone charger must be fully
charged.
Furthermore, we recommend that you recharge the accumulator once a month to avoid deep-
discharge and hence damage to the accumulator.
The charging time via the solar cell with full insolation is approx. 8-9 hours. Charging via USB
takes about 3-4 hours.
In order for the winding mechanism to pull the cable back into the housing, you have to pull out
the cable a little so that the locking mechanism is released. Afterwards, the cable will be drawn
in automatically (do not let go of the connector socket (7), but let the cable be drawn in slowly!).
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these
could damage the housing or even impair operation.
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
Via USB about 3-4 h
