4.2 Operating elements and connections

■ Search mode
SEARCH switches the ROTARY WHEEL to the function
"fast forward/reverse". With the function activated, the
control LED will light up red. If the wheel is not actuated
for 15 seconds, the LED will go off and the function „fast
forward/reverse" is deactivated again.
A function active: in replay mode and pause mode, the
ROTARY WHEEL serves for fast forward/reverse within
the current title.
B function deactivated: in replay mode, the ROTARY
WHEEL serves for the function "Pitch Bend" and in pause
mode for precisely selecting a desired spot to 1 frame
(1/75 second).
■ SGL/CTN
A this button determines the operating mode. The basic
setting is continuous replay of all titles of the SD card.
The first actuation of this button switches the unit to
single title replay (indication SINGLE); after each title is
played the unit is set to pause. On the second actuation
of this button the unit returns to continuous replay and the
indication SINGLE comes off again.

■ LCD
Indicates all functions of the unit and information of the
SD card.
The display icons will be explained in section
DISPLAY.
■ Pitch on/off
Activates/deactivates the PITCH CONTROL. With the
function activated, the LED will light up.

Pitch control

This sliding control sets the replay speed (with the
function "Tempo Lock" activated, the tonal pitch will not
be changed). The adjustment of the control is effective
only with the button PITCH ON/OFF pressed. The pitch
percentage is indicated on the display.

■ SD card slot
Slot for inserting an SD card. The contacts of the card
must point downwards. The unit reads SD cards and
SDHC cards with titles in the MP3 format. CAUTION!
Prior to ejecting an SD card, always terminate the replay.
■ Card selection
Toggles each deck between player mechanism 1 and 2.
The LEDs will verify which slot is active. The red LED
signifies slot 1, the green LED signifies slot 2. Both decks
can read simultaneously from the same slot, playing the
same title on both decks is possible.
■ Time/System menu
A switches the time indication between elapsed
(ELAPSED) and remaining (REMAIN) title time.
B keep this button pressed for 2 seconds to enter the
system menu of the SDP-2. To exit the menu press
TIME again for 2 seconds. If no selection is made with
the control TRACK while in menu mode, you exit the
menu automatically.
■ TAP/BPM

If the automatic beat counter is not able to determine the
number of beats per minute (BPM) of the current title, this
button allows you to manually set the BPM. Shortly
actuate this button to deactivate the automatic beat
counter. Then press the button several times to the beat
of the music. The BPM are indicated on the display. Keep
the button pressed for 2 seconds to return to the
automatic counting mode.
■ Tempo Lock
Activates/deactivates the function "Tempo Lock". With the
function activated, the tonal pitch of the title remains
constant when the speed is changed with the PITCH
CONTROL (corresponding symbol is indicated in the
display).
