The Dräger X-plore 8000 The protective visor serves as a facepiece for
respiratory protective devices. It makes the breathing air available that is fed
through the respiratory protective device.
The breathing air is supplied through a breathing hose on the back of the
protective visor. The breathing air flows through the air duct over the back of the
user's head to the front. The resulting overpressure prevents polluted ambient
air from penetrating.
3.3 Intended use
The protective visor is designed as a facepiece for use with the Dräger X-plore
8000 powered air purifying respirator and the Dräger X-plore
breathing apparatus. In the USA the Dräger X-plore
only permitted to be used with Dräger X-plore
respirators.
3.4 Limitations on use
The protective effect can be impaired by the following factors:
– High wind velocities and strong crosswind
– Earpieces or beards under the face cuff
3.5 Approvals
The protective visors conform to the EU regulations on personal protective
equipment (EU) 2016/425. For information on the corresponding system
approvals please refer to the instructions for use of the respirators mentioned in
3.3 Intended use.
The protective visors themselves are approved according to EN 166:2001 and
ANSI ISEA Z87.1-2010.

In the USA the Dräger X-plore® 8000 protective visor is approved in
combination with the Dräger X-plore® 8000 device in accordance with Part 84,
Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations. It is only permitted to be used
together with components that have NIOSH approval (see Approval Label of the
Dräger X-plore® 8000 blower unit).
