MARS
Mars comes near to the Earth every 26 months. Observing Mars is quite difficult. The use of a
telescopes with an aperture diameter of 100 mm or more and with 100 times magnification
allows observation of the Polar Cap.
MULTIPLE STARS
Several stars appear individually in front of the naked eye, but with telescopic observation, are
comprised of two, three or more stars. Double stars are comprised of two components and
triple stars are comprised of three stars. The use of a quite low magnification, around 40 times,
is suitable.
NEBULAS AND STAR CLUSTERS
The large nebula in the Sword of Orion and the large spiral nebula in Andromeda can be
seen with the naked eye. If you observe nebulas and star clusters, it is recommended to use a
telescope with the largest possible aperture at the smallest magnification.

THE SUN

The use of a telescopes with a 40 mm aperture is adequate for observing solar spots, however
the continued observation of the sun requires the use of a refractor with a 60 mm aperture. In
this case, the use of around 60 times magnification is recommended, in order to see the entire
image of the sun. The observation of the sun should take place during the first 2 hours after 9:00
a.m., as the calm atmospheric conditions during this time offers the best image of the sun. If the
atmospheric conditions are particularly good, the granularities of the sun can be seen.
Do not look at the sun with the telescope or finder scope!!!
