MAINTENANCE
Planopol-2 is designed and constructed
for many years of troublefree running. It
will not need much attention, as its
bearings are sealed and require no fur-
ther lubrication. So maintenance will
generally be limited to cleaning the ex-
terior of the machine, the spill pan and
the drain hose. Where the machine is
used, for instance, for lumina polishing
of SiC lapping, the spill pan should be
cleaned sufficiently often to prevent
drying out of the suspension and thus any
of blocking of the hose. In order to
risk
avoid erratic disc movements, the con-
tact surfaces between disc and turntable

TROUBLESHOOTING
Trouble
Motor does not run.
Red light in stop button.
Motor does not run.
Motor does not run,
but buzzes.
Motor will only run
at one speed.
No light in push button,
otherwise normal machine
function.
Poor drive.
Water not drained.
Machine produces noise.
In the case of other problems, or if abovementioned
following the instructions, call a service man.

Now and again the V-belt may need
tightening, the transmission being less
efficient with inadequate belt tension.
To tighten the belt, remove the rear part
of the cabinet, slacken the nuts securing
the motor plate and push plate and mo-
tor towards the rear until the belt ten-
sion is correct (see section 4.2).
Exchange of th belt is effected by addi-
tionally removing the turntable
loosening the nuts securing the motor
plate so
which the belt can be taken off the
turntable pulley from above. Mounting of
the new belt is done in reverse order.
Cause
