Before first Use
Take the unit out of the package and dispose of the packaging
material (e. g. plastic bags) or store it out of the reach of children.
There is a danger of suffocation!
Inserting the Batteries
1. Remove the battery compartment cover (1) by sliding it
towards the squared-off side of the base stand.
2. Insert 3 fresh Alkaline 1.5 V LR6 (AA) batteries, ensuring
correct polarity (+/-) as printed on the side of the device. Slide
the battery compartment cover back in position.
Inserting/Changing the Soldering Tip
Allow the solder tip (5) always to cool completely before
exchanging it!
1. Slide the protective safety cap (7) straight upwards, over the
tip, to remove it from the soldering iron.
2. Insert the half-round opening of the soldering tip exchange
tool (8) (provided) into the gap between soldering tip and
holder (6).
3. Push the soldering tip exchange tool upwards (towards the
soldering tip) until the tip comes free of the holder.
4. Insert the new soldering tip into the holder, pressing it down
all the way as far as it will go.
Switching on and Heating up
1. Slide the switch (2) into the "ON" position.
2. Press the heating button (3) to heat the soldering tip. Using
new batteries, heating-up takes about 20 seconds. The red
LED (4) turns on when the button is depressed. You should
release the button at reasonable intervals to avoid overheat-
ing the soldering tip and the soldered components. This
