Before first Use

1. Take the unit out of the package and dispose of the packaging material
(e. g. plastic bags) or store it out of the reach of children. There is a danger
of suffocation!
2. Place the soldering station on a level, solid surface.
3. Put the soldering iron on the stand (3).
4. Moisten the cleaning sponge (9) with little water.
5. Plug in the power plug of the soldering station into the power mains.

Start-up and Operation

1. Use the mains switch (11) to power on the soldering station. The control
indicator lights up.
2. Set the temperature dial (10) to the desired temperature (150 °C to
450 °C). The more you turn the dial clockwise, the higher the temperature
of the soldering tip will be.
3. The heating element (6) heats up the soldering tip (4).
4. Before first use, the soldering tip must be tinned. To do this let some
solder melt on and flow around the tip. The entire soldering tip must be
evenly coated with a thin coat of solder.
5. Use the according soldering temperature for each job. So you can avoid
cold soldering joints as well as excessive soldering temperatures. This may
burn the flux and lead to bad soldering joints as well. Delicate electronics
may be damages by heat as well.
6. Wipe off excessive solder on the moistened cleaning sponge (9). Though,
ensure that the soldering tip is well coated all the time.
7. During pauses between soldering, store the soldering iron on the stand (3).

Switching off the Unit

1. After work let some solder melt on the soldering tip. This protects the
soldering tip from corrosion during storage. Before next use, remove
excess solder after heating with the wet cleaning sponge (9).
2. Place the soldering iron on the stand (3).
3. Turn off the soldering station with the mains switch (11) and allow the unit
to fully cool down before storing.
