INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Read the following instructions and warnings before using the set.
DESCRIPTION
This pack contains a Terumo Tubing Set configured according to the requirements of the user. The set may contain
components that have their individual Instructions for Use. In this case, please refer to the Instructions for Use
relative to those products.
This device contains DEHP.
Based on animal studies, significant exposure to DEHP may interfere with the normal development of the male
reproductive tract.
For children, pregnant and nursing women, alternative devices may be appropriate.
• Sterile and non-pyrogenic. Sterilised by ethylene oxide gas.
• Do not use if the unit package is damaged.
• For single use only. Do not reuse. Do not resterilize. Do not reprocess. Reprocessing may compromise the sterility,
biocompatibility and functional integrity of the device.
• Do not store at extreme temperature or humidity.
• Dispose of safely following the local regulations for the disposal of medical waste.
INDICATIONS
This set is intended for use under the order of a physician by an appropriately trained and qualified perfusionist for
extracorporeal circulation during cardiopulmonary bypass.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
There are no absolute contra-indications for the use of this set except where extracorporeal circulation would be
contra-indicated.
However, since the set is made to specifications approved or requested by the user, such user is responsible for its
configuration being appropriate to the procedure for which it is used. Likewise, the set should not be used for any
procedure which would compromise its function. Furthermore, the user is responsible for ensuring that the correct
connections are made with other components of the extracorporeal system.
INSTRUCTIONS
Use an aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
WARNING
1. Open the outer bag or peel off the Tyvek lid as appropriate.
2. Remove the set from the package.
3. Carry out a careful visual inspection of the device before use for any transport or storage damage.
4. Attach the tubing to the various components of the circuit (oxygenator, pumps, reservoirs, filters etc). The use of
tie-bands is recommended.
WARNING
5. The circuitry should be set up and primed in accordance with the instructions of the various components used in
combination with the tubing set.
6. Prior to each case, the occlusion of the roller pump should be set according to the manufacturer's
recommendations.
WARNING
7. Thoroughly recirculate the priming fluid throughout the circuit following the manufacturer's instructions for all
components.
8. Inspect all sections of the circuit to ensure that they are completely de-bubbled.
9. Before starting the procedure, carefully inspect all connections to make sure that there are no leaks.
10. Start the procedure in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions for the various components.

Ce circuit contient un ensemble de tubulures assemblées par TERUMO selon les spécificités de l'utilisateur. Si le
circuit contient des dispositifs tels que des filtres ou autres, se reporter au mode d'emploi de ces dispositifs.
Ce dispositif contient du DEHP.
D'après des études menées sur des animaux, une exposition importante au DEHP pourrait affecter le
développement normal du système reproductif masculin.
Pour les enfants, les femmes enceintes ou allaitantes, il peut être approprié d'utiliser d'autres dispositifs.

• Stérile et apyrogène. Stérilisé à l'oxyde d'éthylène.
• Ne pas utiliser si l'emballage de protection a été endommagé.
• A strict usage unique. Ne pas réutiliser. Ne pas re-stériliser. Ne pas re-traiter. Le retraitement peut compromettre
la stérilité, la biocompatibilité et l'intégrité fonctionnelle du dispositif.
• Ne pas exposer à des températures ou humidité excessives.
• Après usage, éliminer de façon sécuritaire, conformément aux procédures locales d'élimination des déchets
médicaux.
INDICATIONS
Ce circuit est destiné à la circulation extracorporelle durant une dérivation cardio-pulmonaire. Il doit être utilisé sous
la responsabilité d'un médecin, par un perfusionniste qualifié.
CONTRE-INDICATIONS
Il n'existe pas de contre-indication absolue concernant l'utilisation de ce circuit dans la mesure où la dérivation
cardio-pulmonaire n'est pas elle-même contre-indiquée.
Néanmoins, ce circuit étant élaboré suivant les spécificités requises et approuvées par l'utilisateur, il est responsable
de la bonne adéquation de celui ci à la procédure dans laquelle il est utilisé. De même, le nécessaire ne doit pas être
utilisé pour une procédure qui puisse compromettre sa fonction. En outre , il est de la responsabilité de l'utilisateur
de s'assurer que toutes les connexions avec les autres composants du système extracorporel sont correctes .
INSTRUCTIONS
AVERTISSEMENT
1. Ouvrir l'enveloppe extérieure, ou peler le "Tyvek".
2. Retirer le circuit de son emballage.
3. Faire une inspection visuelle du dispositif avant son utilisation, afin de s'assurer qu'il n'y a pas eu de dommage
durant le transport ou le stockage .
4. Raccorder les tubulures aux différents éléments du circuit (oxygénateur, pompe, réservoir, filtre, etc.) . La mise
en place de liens est recommandée .
AVERTISSEMENT
5. Le circuit doit être monté et amorcé suivant les instructions fournies avec les différents dispositifs utilisés en
association avec le circuit.
6. Avant chaque procédure, l'occlusion de la pompe à galets doit être réglée suivant les instructions du fabricant.
AVERTISSEMENT
7. Faire circuler le liquide d'amorçage dans tout le circuit, suivant les instructions du fabricant pour tous les
composants.
Do not lubricate silicone rubber pump headers with silicone or silicone grease. Failure may
result due to swelling and weakening of the tubing.
Premature tubing failure may occur if the rollers are not properly adjusted.
For minimized perfusion circuit ROCsafeRX, always replace whole ROCsafeRX circuit, when
oxygenator needs replacement.
Utiliser une technique aseptique tout au long de la procédure.
Ne pas lubrifier les galets des pompes pour tubulures en silicone avec du silicone ou
de la graisse de silicone. Un gonflement ou un ramollissement des tubulures pourrait
s'en suivre.
Une dégradation prématurée de la tubulure peut se produire si les galets ne sont pas
correctement ajustés.
