18.1 Pairing via NFC
NFC is a technology that enables Bluetooth-enabled devices to communicate wirelessly with each other by
simply touching the devices together. Refer to your device's operating manual for more information on
whether your model supports NFC.
To connect your device:
4. Turn on the backhand scanner.
5. Unlock your device and turn on the Bluetooth and NFC functions. For details about these functions,
refer to your device's operating manual.
6. Hold the NFC touch point of your device against the top (scan button) of the backhand scanner. Your
device may ask you to confirm the pairing process.

After successful pairing, the status LED of the backhand scanner flashes blue at intervals of five seconds.
18.2 Pairing via BT-compatible short-range radio
You can also pair the backhand scanner without using NFC. To do this, turn on the Bluetooth function of
your device and search for the backhand scanner. For more information about this function, refer to the
operating manual of your device.
To connect your device:
4. Turn on the backhand scanner.
5. Unlock your device and turn on the Bluetooth function.
6. Search for "ACD Hasci serial number" among the available devices and establish a connection with
it.
After successful pairing, the status LED of the backhand scanner flashes blue at intervals of five seconds.
