Energy saving

Each refrigerating appliance is provided with a thermostat for automatic maintenance of the
appropriate pre-established temperature inside the tank.
The temperature inside the freezer is affected by:
ambient temperature - position of appliance - how often the glass lids are opened.
Position (0) means the machine is turned off.
Position (min) indicates minimum operation mode (internal temperature is higher).
Position (max) means maximum operation mode (internal temperature is lower).
Place the machine in the coolest location, far from heat sources or windows. Thermostat adjustments
must be carried out as per current room temperatures, therefore they may vary based on the seasons.
When the room temperature is 20-25°C, adjust the thermostat's knob on the middle position.
If the room temperature is greater than 25-30°C, decrease the adjustment of the thermostat's knob.
When the room temperature is lower than 16-20°C, increase the adjustment of the thermostat's knob,
for example from medium to medium/maximum.
With time you will find the right adjustment to fit your needs, but avoid cooling too much, (excessively
cold adjustments are useless to preserve foodstuff and energy consumption increases by 10/15%).
On maximum cold positions, with high room temperatures and with a great quantity of food, the
machine continuously works and frost or ice may form on its walls.
In these cases turn the thermostat's knob on a slightly higher temperature (i.e. a little less cold), in
order to limit operating percentage, thus reducing energy consumption.
Do not place hot foods inside the machine, since they may cause frost and ice to form on the walls. Be
careful when you open the freezer; quickly remove or place foodstuffs or icecream.
It is a good practice keeping them in order in the same compartments or in visible containers.
Defrosting
Defrosting
We recommend a manual defrosting in the tanks when the frost layer is too thick.
To do this, never use sharp objects, metal tools, humidifiers, heaters, hairdryers or de-icing sprays,
which could irreparably damage the cooling circuit and also be dangerous.
To defrost proceed as follows:
- Empty the appliance
- Take the plug out or switch off the mains system
- Drain water from the outlet into a basin
- Remove the water formed during defrosting with a sponge or cloth dry the walls
- Plug in again and wait till the appliance reaches the right temperature before filling it again.
