T .
IEC POWER CORD SOCKET—Connect the included power
cord to a grounded AC electrical outlet in accordance with the
voltage and frequency ratings specified on the rear panel of
your amplifier.
U .
SPEAKER OUTPUT—You can connect an external speaker
cabinet here, if desired. The cabinet must be 4Ω minimum
and be able to handle 200 watts minimum. Read Speaker
Guidelines on the next page before using this jack.
V .
FOOTSWITCH—Plug in the footswitch here to enable remote
switching of MASTER MUTE and the BASS INTENSIFIER.
W . TUNER OUTPUT*—Plug in your instrument tuner here to
enable inline tuning. Use MASTER MUTE {Q} or your active
channel MUTE {E} to disable audio output while tuning.
X .
EFFECTS SEND / RETURN*—Connect EFX SEND to your
effects device input and the effects device output to EFX
RETURN for each channel. NOTE: Set the wet/dry control on
external effects units to the fully WET position to prevent
phasing problems and set effects input level as close to 0dB
as possible.
* NOTE: The rear panel 1/4" jacks {V, W and X} are balanced TRS (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) types:
Tip=positive (+)
Ring=negative (–)
Sleeve=ground.
While standard shielded TS (Tip/Sleeve) "mono" guitar cables may certainly be used, the use of "stereo" TRS cables may improve
signal-to-noise ratio and/or reduce hum, especially when longer connections are required.

The EFX SEND output signal includes onboard tone shaping;
output level is primarily controlled by GAIN {D}. EFX RETURN
provides a line level input that can be blended in any ratio with
the onboard preamp signal using EFFECTS BLEND {L}.
The Effects Loop circuit is on a "side chain" of the main circuit
(as in studio recording consoles) to provide the full sound of
your instrument AND the diversity of your effects units. This
also reduces noise from effects units by being located after
gain in the signal path.
BALANCED LINE OUTPUTS*—True electronically balanced
outputs, suitable for studio and "front-of-house" (live) mixing
consoles. The two POST EQ LINE OUT jacks for channel 1
and channel 2 do not include Compression or Bass Intensifier
circuits. The two 1+2 SUMMED LINE OUT jacks do include all
tone shaping circuits.
XLR GROUND LIFT— Disconnects the ground connection (pin-1)
from all three of the XLR Line Out jacks to reduce ground loop
noise generated from non-standard wiring. Normally, leave this
switch out.
