All objects, solid, liquid or gas emit energy by radiation. The intensity of this energy depends of the temperature in the object.
The infrared thermometer Easy Check is therefore able to measure the human's temperature, only by the energy that person
emits. This measurement is possible, thanks to anexternal temperature probe on the device, which permanently analyses
and register the temperature of the environment.
Therefore, immediately after the thermometer is closed to the body and the radiation sensor is activated, the temperature is
immediately measured through detecting infrared heat, caused by arterial blood flow. The temperature of the body can be
measured also without any interference from the heating of the surrounding environment.
DIFFERENT METHODS FOR TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT
А. Internal temperature
The measurement of the internal temperature is the biggest method for body temperature readings and this includes
measurement of the pulmonary artery, using a catheter equipped with a thermal probe that can measure the temperature on
site. The same method is used for probes, measuring the temperatures in the esophagus. Although, such an invasive
method requires specific equipment and expertise.
B. Rectal thermometry
The rectal temperature is changing slowly, compare to the internal body temperature. It is proved that the rectal temperature
remains increased for long time after the internal temperature of the patient begin to drop and in vice versa.
Furthermore, rectal perforations occur in a result of this method and without sterilization techniques, rectal thermometer can
spread germs, often found in faeces.
C. Oral thermometry
Oral temperature is under influence of the recent ingestion of food and drinks and from mouth breathing. For measuring the
oral temperature, the mouth must be closed and the tongue to be relaxed for 3-4 minutes, which is hard difficult task for
children.
D. Axillary (armpit) temperature
Although that the armpit temperature can be easily measured, it is proved that it does not show exact measurement of the
children internal temperature. For measuring this way, the thermometer must be tightened hard over the armpit artery.
Although lower sensitivity and comparative inaccuracy of the temperature of the armpit for detection of fever, this method is
recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics as screening test for fever in newborns.
E. Tympanic thermometry
In order to obtain precise temperature reading, good command of the measurement technique is required. The thermometer
probe must be placed as close as the warmest part of the external ear canal.
NORMAL TEMPERATURES ACCORDING TO THE MEASURING METHOD
MEASURING METHOD
Human body temperature varies through the whole day. Also it can be influenced by many external factors: age, sex, type
and thickness of the skin.
 Advantages of temporal artery (TA) temperature
Infrared arterial temperature can be measured, using device, placed on the forehead in the area of the temporal artery. It is
proved that this relatively new method for measuring the temperature is more precise than using of ear thermometers and
better tolerated than the rectal method.
The thermometer Easy Check, item number JXB-813, is intended to show immediately the forehead temperature without
any contact with the temporal artery. Because temporal; artery is too close to the surface of the skin and therefore
accessible and considering that the blood flow is permanent and regular, this allows precise temperature measurement. This
artery is connected with the heart through the carotid artery, which is directly connected with the aorta. This form part of the
main part of the main stem of the arterial system. The effectivity, speed and comfort from measurement of the temperature
from this part of the body, make this method ideal in comparison with other methods for temperature measurement.
