can cause unforeseen damage.
- Check that all safety devices are operational
again after each service.
SAW BLADE CHANGE (FIG.19-21)
DANGER:
- Right after cutting the saw blade may be very
hot – burning hazard! Let a hot saw blade cool
down. Do not clean a hot saw blade with any
combustible liquids.
- Risk of injury, even with the saw blade at
standstill. When loosening and tightening the
arbor bolt (E1), the retractable blade guard must
encompass the saw blade. Wear gloves when
changing blades.
- 1. Set the track arm holder to 0° (vertical) and
tighten the bevel tilt lock screw.
- 2. Loosen the nut holding the blade guard and
take the blade guard off. Take upper saw table
off.
- 3. To keep the saw blade from turning, pull the
saw blade lock (D1) forward. At the same time
slowly turn the saw blade by hand until the saw
blade lock engages.
- 4. Loosen the arbor bolt (E1) on the saw spindle
(left- handed thread).
- 5. Remove arbor bolt (E1) and outer blade
flange (E2) from the saw spindle.
- 6. Take saw blade (18) off the saw spindle and
lift it up to remove from the machine.
- 7. Remove arbor washer (E4) and the inner
blade flange (E3) from the saw spindle.
- . Clean clamping surface of:
- Saw spindle
- Inner blade flange
- Saw blade
- Outer blade flange
- Arbor bolt
- Blade cover
- DANGER: Do not use any cleaning agents
(e.g. to remove resin residue) which would
tend to corrode the light metal components of
the machine; the stability of the saw could be
compromised.
- 9. Put the inner blade flange (E3) arbor washer
(E4) on the saw spindle.
- DANGER: Fit the inner blade flange correctly!
Otherwise the saw might jam, or the saw blade
might work itself loose! The inner blade flange
is in the correct position when the chamfered
collar (Q1) points to the right and the spring ring
groove points to the left (Fig.21).
- 10.Mount the new saw blade (18)- and pay
attention to the direction (the arrow on the saw
blade must point in the same direction as the
arrow on the blade guard)!
- DANGER: Use only saw blades conforming to
standards and which are designed for the maxi-
mum speed (see "Technical specification").
- Do not use:
- Incorrect size blades
- Saw blades made of high speed steel (HSS);
- Damaged saw blades;
- Cut off wheel blades.
DANGER:
- Mount the saw blade using only OEM parts.
- Do not use loose-fitting reduction rings; the saw
blade could work itself loose.
- Saw blades have to be mounted in such way
that they do not wobble and cannot work them-
selves loose during operation.
- 11. Install the outer blade flange (E3)
- the two flanks must fit over the flats of the saw
spindle.
- 12. Insert the arbor bolt (E1) (left-handed
thread) and tighten it with the Allen key finger-
tight.
DANGER:
- Do not extend the arbor bolt tightening wrench
to get more leverage.
- Do not hit the wrench with a hammer to tighten
the arbor bolt.
- After tightening the arbor bolt be sure to remove
the wrench.
- 13. Install the blade guard and tighten the nut
holding the blade guard.
- 14. Check the function:
- The retractable blade guard must open without
touching the saw blade.
- When returning the sawhead to starting position
the retractable blade guard must automatically
encompass the saw blade.
- In the upper starting position of the sawhead
the safety lock must lock the retractable blade
guard to prevent unintentional opening.
- Check the saw blade lock – the saw blade must
turn freely.
REPLACING THE KERF PLATE
- DANGER! If the kerf plate is damaged, small
parts may become stuck between kerf plate and
the saw blade and cause the saw blade to jam.
Replace a damaged kerf plate immediately!
